IS YOUR EQUINE ATHLETE PERFORMING AT ITS PEAK PERFORMANCE ABILITIES?

Our equine swimming pool is state-of-the-art and provides superior aerobic exercise without any of the stress on the tendons, ligaments and muscles of the leg that traditional, weight-bearing on-the-ground exercises create.

Swimming your horse maintains proper body and muscle tone, cardiopulmonary capacity and helps maintain or increase the mental capabilities of the horse. It is especially effective in helping the equine athlete recover from sour attitudes that some seasoned horses develop after long periods of performance.

Some injuries that benefit from swimming in a pool:

• Tendon and ligament injuries

• EPM

• Laminitis

• Fractures of bones or joints

• Bone spurs, spavins, or arthritis

• Some neurological ailments that prevent the horse from being able to enjoy normal exercise that requires balance or coordination

Our Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a procedure that delivers increased amounts of oxygen to diseased or injured tissues. It is currently one of the most powerful tools available as an adjunctive form of therapy, and in some cases it works well as the primary therapy for horses. Oxygen is delivered to the patient under pressure, the procedure concentrates the oxygen available in the air breathed by the horse, which allows more oxygen to be dissolved into the blood plasma and delivered to the injured or diseased tissues. Relieve discomfort and pain for your horses, dogs, and cats!

Acute and Chronic conditions commonly treated with the Equine Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber:

Post Surgical and Slow Healing Wounds

Tendon and Ligament Injuries

Colic (post surgical)

Laminitis and Navicular Syndrome

Internal Abscesses

Joint infections in foals / adults

Enhancement of healing in selected problem wounds

Wounds not responding to conventional antibiotic therapies alone

Selected Aerobic and Anaerobic soft tissue infections

Electromagnetic Pulse Therapy restores missing electrical charges to damaged cells, allowing cells to re-attain their natural electrical charge.

Effective Non-invasive Therapy

Deep Muscle Massage

Injury Prevention

Relief of Back & Gluteal Muscle Soreness

Muscle Strain

Tendon and Ligament Problems

Joint Stiffness

Increased Circulation

Stimulation of Hoof Growth

Wound Healing and Reduction of Scarring

The AquaPace Water Treadmill is a great therapy for the following reasons:

Increases the stride and develops muscles used in normal exercise, on the race track, or under saddle

Allows bleeders to heal while still maintaining conditioning

Reduces recovery time by 50-60%

Improves performance, Accelerates conditioning, Encourages muscle development

Increases cardiovascular fitness, Improves flexibility

Promotes correct posture and a balanced gait

Minimizes performance injuries, Reduces impact on limbs while benefiting soft tissue mobilization, Modulation and reduction of pain

Reduces friction between articulating joints

Provides hydrostatic pressure to assist blood and reduce swelling

Laser therapy stimulates individual cells to revitalize and reactivate their own healing processes. Some benefits of Laser are the following:

Relieves Pain

Reduces Inflammation

Accelerates Tissue Repair and Cell Growth

Improves Circulation

Accelerates Wound Healing

Reduces the Formation of Scars

Stimulates Acupuncture and Trigger Points

Vertical Vibration Therapy helps:

Increase bone mineral density for stronger bone

Increase muscle mass and strength

Relieve sore strained muscles

Increase “explosive strength”, flexibility and range of motion

Increase energy levels and decrease body toxins

Improve circulation and oxygen uptake in tissue to speed healing

Alleviate pain and inflammation

Improve lymphatic system functions

Decrease cellulitis and lymphangitis

Increase circulation in the hoof to manage: chronic laminitis, thin soles, under run heels, quarter cracks, poor hoof growth

Warm up before competitions without sapping energy

Encourage relaxation for jittery or nervous performers

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY:

Everyone at EPIC was incredibly compassionate towards me and my horse. They made me feel like they truly cared about Levi as if he was their own. Dr. Rullan not only kept in touch with my vet but also reached out to me often during Levi’s stay. The staff were fantastic and sent me texts and pictures on a weekly basis. Levi learned to love his time there and lived swimming and the water treadmill. I can’t say enough about this facility and the care delivered. I highly recommend!

Karen

My horse had an acute case of laminitis this past week and just got to come home yesterday. To say the least this facility is amazing and so are all the people who care for the animals from the doctors, to feeders, to stall cleaners, and handlers, and even the office staff all took a part in my horses recovery. The vet was absolutely amazing and took the time to explain all treatment options while making sure to not do a bunch of unnecessary treatments. I highly recommend anyone and everyone who has any kind of lameness or injury in a horse to go see the caring people at EPIC!!!

Erika
